This course blog is where we communicate as a group, share responses to assignments, and post our work. You are required to publish posts according to assignments found on Moodle, and are encouraged to share images, make comments, and pose public questions throughout the semester.
I agree with Vanessa that this is a pleasing image. There is something about the sharp edged texture of the grass that is both foreboding and cozy—a safe vantage point from which to contemplate the sky on a balmy night, crickets and all. Given this read, I do still see the need for some tweaks. Perhaps exaggerating the perspective of the path by stretching the foreground edges out wider would eliminate the somewhat safe and unnatural point-of-view (the viewer is hovering); rather such an edit would place us in the weeds—in the thick of things. That edit, plus a bit more attention to depth by varying the sharpness of the grass texture and offering more scale references (taking advantage of PS layer hierarchies) would add complexity and surreality to the image. I so appreciate the degree of poetry and metaphor that you seem to reach for in your work, and I'm excited to see the style progress into time-based media as well.
I like your landscape. I find it beautiful, dreamy and full of possibilities for the person floating towards the moon.
